How to use our Scrabble Word Finder
While the game of Scrabble can be a lot of fun, finding words can be difficult. That's why we've created our Scrabble Word Finder.
Simply Enter your Scrabble Tile Letters into the search box, including question marks ('?'s) for blank spaces. Our Word Finder will find every playable word!
The results will be separated into groups by word length.
You can also use the advanced options, such as, start letter(s), ending letter(s), and word length, which will help you find the word much easier.
Scrabble Scoring Strategy
Use All 7 Tiles for a Bingo
Playing all 7 tiles in a single turn earns a 50-point bonus (called a "bingo"). Enter your full rack into the finder and set the length filter to 7 to find bingo opportunities. Common bingo-friendly letter combinations include -ING, -TION, -NESS, and -MENT endings.
Target Premium Squares
Place high-value letters (Q=10, Z=10, X=8, J=8) on Double or Triple Letter squares for maximum impact. A Z on a Triple Letter square scores 30 points for that letter alone. Use the "Starts With" or "Ends With" filters to find words that place your best letters on premium squares.
Learn the 2-Letter Words
There are 107 valid 2-letter words in the TWL Scrabble dictionary. Knowing them lets you play parallel words and score in two directions at once. Key ones to memorize: QI (11 pts), ZA (11 pts), JO (9 pts), XI (9 pts), XU (9 pts), AX (9 pts), EX (9 pts), OX (9 pts).
Words With Q but No U
Getting stuck with a Q and no U is common. Valid Q-without-U words include: QI, QOPH, QADI, QANAT, QINTAR, QINDAR, QWERTY, TRANQ, and SHEQEL. Enter Q? in the finder to see all options with your available letters.
TWL vs SOWPODS Dictionaries
Scrabble uses two official word lists depending on where you play:
- TWL (Tournament Word List) -- Used in the US and Canada. Contains about 187,000 words. This is the default dictionary in our finder.
- SOWPODS -- Used in all other countries (UK, Australia, etc.). Contains about 267,000 words, including all TWL words plus additional ones.
If a word is valid in TWL, it is also valid in SOWPODS. Switch between dictionaries using the dropdown in the advanced options above.
